    Our Program

The St. Paul's School baseball team plays against many of the top programs throughout New England and competes each season for the Lakes Region Championship. From 2022-2026, the team won four regular season titles (three consecutive) and three Lakes Region tournaments. Over the last six years, the team has amassed an overall record of 84-18.

Joining the St. Paul's baseball program is an invitation to live, work and compete with teammates who share a common passion for the game of baseball. Students strive to improve every day as individuals while learning to play a team game.

Each year, the team takes a one-week trip to Florida for spring training, practicing and competing against other high-level high school teams and players from around the country. It's a wonderful experience, and many former players list it among their favorite experiences at St. Paul's. It's an opportunity not only to improve as a team and as individuals, but also to bond as friends.

    Coaching

Head Coach Robb Arndt joined SPS in 2019 as an Associate Dean of Students and has coached varsity baseball his entire time at SPS, becoming head coach in 2026. Coach Arndt works with each player in the program to identify their needs and goals and how these support the program's goal of a consistent quest for improvement, individually and collectively, on and off the field. Coach Arndt views his role as supportive in optimizing each player's overall SPS experience. Prior to St. Paul's School, Coach Arndt was the head coach of the baseball program at Millbrook School and has also coached with various teams in the summer.

Coach Arndt culminated a four-year playing career as a first baseman and earned his B.A. in English from Colby College in 2012 and earned his M.A.Ed. from Michigan State's Graduate School of Education in 2018.

    Facilities

SPS Varsity Diamond: The SPS varsity field is a beautiful diamond with dugouts, a batting cage and bullpen. On warm spring days, our many fans enjoy cheering from the stands or from beyond the foul lines as the team competes.

The Cage: SPS has excellent indoor facilities as well, with a full turf infield along with two batting cages and indoor mounds for off-season practice.
Many St. Paul's alumni have gone on to play at the highest levels of collegiate baseball. Our goal is to provide every player with the skills and knowledge to have the opportunity to make an immediate impact at the next level. In recent years, former players have played at Northeastern, UC-Berkeley, Williams, Washington & Lee, Skidmore, Hamilton, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Wesleyan and Bates.

Become Big Red. The color will suit you.

Sportsmanship, respect and kindness are at the core of our coaching and playing, whether at the club, junior varsity or varsity team level. On the field, court and ice, students step into leadership roles, taking as their role models the coaches who also serve as their classroom teachers and house advisers. Our 95,000-square-foot Athletic and Fitness Center serves the entire St. Paul's community, helping all students prioritize their physical well being — no matter their athletic interests or skill level.
